A week after Empire Of The Sun announced their new album, Ask That God, the electro-pop favourites have revealed Australian tour dates.

Hitting the road this October and November, the duo – Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore – begin their tour at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Thursday, 24 October, before heading to Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl (Saturday, 26 October), Brisbane’s Riverstage (Tuesday, 29 October), and wrap up the run at Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium on Friday, 1 November.

Frontier Members can access pre-sale tickets on Tuesday, 28 May, from noon local time, before the general sale opens on Thursday, 30 May, from 1 pm local time. You can find all the tour and ticketing information on the Frontier Touring website.

In a statement, Luke Steele said about the group’s impending homecoming concerts: “Australia, we're coming home. Empire cannot wait to see you all. Get ready; this is gonna be a wild ride as we embark on a journey unlike any other Empire has been on. New record, new show, new era, let's go!”

The announcement of Ask That God was preceded by the track Changes—their first single since 2019's Chrysalis (as part of the 10th-anniversary edition of Walking On A Dream). Empire Of The Sun’s new album follows their 2016 album, Two Vines.

Last week, Empire Of The Sun announced the album and shared another single, Music On The Radio. You can pre-order/pre-save Ask That God here.

Empire Of The Sun began teasing the “emergence of a new era” in March before dropping Changes last month.

Last February, Empire Of The Sun’s Luke Steele told The Music in a cover story that it was the “perfect time” for the duo to finally return.

“I think there’s always been tremendous love for this band… I had so many calls, emails, messages and requests from people yearning for the songs and the music,” Steele said. “There were a lot of testimonies about what they’d been through, from people getting over cancer to getting married to giving them hope during moments of deep depression.”

He continued, “It became quite evident that we had become conduits or ambassadors, and we have to honour that. This is the new era of Empire Of The Sun.”
