Jungle won't die
Brisbane songwriter Emma Louise’ breakout hit Jungle continues to be discovered around Europe, with the original version of the 2011 single now a top five favourite.
The track – which first appeared on the Full Hearts And Empty Rooms EP – was a gift that kept on giving through the European markets thanks to remixes by Wankelmut and MK. A chart success in Germany and Italy, it reached the UK top five in August this year. Now the original version of the track is making headlines again, thanks in part to a placement on a TVC for a new Yves Saint Laurent perfume fragrance.
It has pushed Jungle up the iTunes charts, reaching as high as two behind David Guetta’s Dangerous this week. It is currently sitting at four in the retailer’s sales chart, updated hourly, having first appeared in the top 100 in late August. It is also at four in the official France singles chart this week – its highest position to date.
In the UK the remixed version has been officially certified silver with over 250,00 scans, and it is double platinum in Italy. In Australia Jungle is approaching a platinum certification of 70,000 scans.
