It all makes sense.
Triple J host Dom Alessio has today confirmed where he's headed in 2018, following last week's news that he will depart the youth broadcaster after eight years.
The Sydney-based music personality has been appointed as Sounds Australia's Digital Export Producer, with a focus on leveraging curated digital services and promoting local artists to international markets.
"You'd be hard pressed to find anyone that knows about and has supported more Australian artists throughout their career," Sounds Australia Executive Producer, Millie Millgate, said.
"Hard-working, passionate and knowledgeable are just the surface of traits that make Dom the perfect choice to join Sounds Australia's cheer squad."

In his new role, Alessio will pitch specific global playlists ahead of international events such as SXSW and The Great Escape, while also highlighting yet-to-be-discovered artists.
He will also be responsible for creating and maintaining Sounds Australia's own playlists.
"I'm so excited to be joining Sounds Australia," Alessio said of the move.
"They're some of the hardest working and most well-respected people in the Australian music industry and it's such an honour to be working alongside them.
"Australia is producing some of the best music in the world right now and I can't wait to be part of a team that helps spread that word around the globe."
