DMA'SDMA’S are releasing their self-titled new album next month, and to celebrate, they’re hosting some intimate “album preview parties.”
Each event is limited capacity and will see the Aussie trio answer fans’ questions, perform some tunes, and preview tracks from their forthcoming album.
The parties are taking place ahead of the release of DMA’S forthcoming album, scheduled for Friday, 21 August. They begin at Sydney’s Crowbar on Saturday, 8 August.
The excitement continues at Brisbane’s Crowbar on Sunday, 9 August, Adelaide’s The Exeter Hotel on Saturday, 15 August, the Port Noarlunga Bowling Club on Sunday, 16 August, and concludes at Melbourne’s The Tote on Monday, 17 August.
All events aside from the Melbourne party begin at 12:30 pm, while the final event kicks off at 6 pm.
Tickets are available here.
The album preview parties take place months before DMA’S come home for a full-blown East Coast tour in November, performing at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall, Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens (as part of the Live At The Gardens series), and the Sydney Opera House Forecourt (as part of the On The Steps program).
For the November dates, DMA’S will promote their forthcoming album as well as commemorate the tenth anniversary of their beloved debut album, Hills End.

Discussing their forthcoming album, lead guitarist Matt Mason told The Music, “On How Many Dreams? we tried a bunch of new things, we were having fun with different equipment and experimenting with sounds we hadn’t tried before – and there’s always a time for that.
“[But] this album is less rough around the edges. Even if we wanted to try to replicate what we were doing a decade ago, there’s a part of us that wouldn’t allow that to happen because we’ve learnt new things along the way.”
The band’s latest chapter will soundtrack what Mason describes as a “big gear shift” in his and his bandmates’ lives, with the group returning to Earth after the band “went off on a bit of a tangent” for their last LP.
