If you don’t already know who the world-famous DJ Armand Van Helden is, this gig just might be the best way to get acquainted. The beatmaker is on the prowl for a local producer to open for him at Miller Mix in Sydney on January 25th.
The Boston-native has been turning knobs and shaking dancefloors since the 90s as a prolific dance and electronic music selector. Since, he has taken to major stages across the world including Hï Ibiza, Boiler Room, and Long Beach’s Day Trip Festival, and churned out some of the most iconic dance tracks of the 21st century, including Bonkers with UK MC Dizzee Rascal and the infectious 2005 single My, My, My.
Partnering with Miller Genuine Draft and Beatport, the DJ is featured on the Miller Mix World Tour, and for his appearance in Sydney, he’s looking for a fresh, exciting beatmaker to join him onstage and be his opening act.
If you want the chance to get your beats heard in front of a massive audience (and now exactly the person that could fit the bill), here’s what you need to know.
The Miller Mix and Beatport team want to see you flex your chops, and so they’re inviting you to make a beat using a special Miller Mix sound pack, which can be accessed here. Once you’ve produced your own original beat using the sound pack provided, you must submit it by January 13th.
