Foo Fighters returned to Perth last night for the first time since January 2018, kicking off their Australian tour with deep cuts and support from Teenage Joans and The Chats.
Fans who got into HBF Park early witnessed Foo Fighters’ soundcheck, which included the live debut of Statues from the 2007 album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. From the same album, the American rockers performed Ballad Of The Beaconsfield Miners for the first time since 2018 during the show, with Dave Grohl performing the number solo.
The band might have gotten a few words and chords wrong while performing Statues, but it’s doubtful that the devoted fans truly cared about little errors when hearing a deep cut played live for the first time. During the show, Grohl, guitarist Chris Shiflett and keyboardist Rami Jaffee played Statues live and acoustic. You can check out video footage below.
Throughout the show, Foo Fighters played hits like The Pretender, Times Like These, My Hero, Learn To Fly, Best Of You, Everlong and more, with Aurora dedicated to Taylor Hawkins. You can check out the entire setlist below.
Next up on Foo Fighters’ Australian tour, the band heads to Adelaide (Kaurna)’s Cooper’s Stadium, two shows at Melbourne (Naarm)’s AAMI Park, before performing at Accor Stadium in Sydney (Eora) and Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane (Meanjin). You can purchase last-minute tickets via the Frontier Touring website.
