Maybe it's obvious to say this, but yes, some people in the music industry will royally fuck you and your band over.
Overnight, alternative/goth-rockers, Davey Suicide have chosen to "break the silence" about the behind-the-scenes bullshit they've endured over the past few years under US label, Standby Records.
This absolute clusterfuck between the band and Standby Records owner, Neil Sheehan, includes lawsuits, thousands of unpaid funds to the band, removed videos from YouTube, lack of album & tour support, and some immensely poor communication.
Look, I could give you all a long-winded breakdown of this shitstorm (like I did with my 'Exotype Versus Rise Records' post). But I won't because A) I think that Suicide has put it best in this tell-all video and B) I honestly can't be bothered because again, the video really speaks for itself.
However, I will say that the band really fucked up by handing over the masters of their second album to the label, even though said label had not paid them for their first record. That's just a really dumb move, but I suppose that hindsight is 20/20, and I guess that the band was really hoping that Sheehan would pull through for them. Sadly, that didn't seem to be the case.

Another thing worth noting is that Standby Records haven't released a statement regarding these accusations (which all look pretty damn credible, I must say) as of yet. I will update this post when, or if, they say anything.
In any case, I do wish Davey Suicide and his bandmates the best in this because the real loss is here is not their money, but the momentum they had and the five fucking years that are now down the drain.
