French electronic duo Daft Punk will drop their first studio album in eight years this May, according to The Guardian.

The UK newspaper reports the legendary dance duo have signed a new record deal with Columbia.

While details surrounding the duo’s fourth studio album are scant, The Guardian reports Daft Punk have collaborated with Nile Rodgers (Chic), Panda Bear (Animal Collective), Academy Award-winning composer Paul Williams, Chilly Gonzales (Feist) and Italian record producer Giorgio Moroder over the past few years, though whether these collaborations will appear on the new album is unclear.

Daft Punk Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo – last toured Australia in 2007 as part of the Never Ever Land festival.

The duo produced the soundtrack to Disney’s Tron: Legacy in 2010 and released their last studio album, Human After All, in 2005.
