The deal sees Barnett join the imprint, now in its tenth year of operations, on an Australian and New Zealand agreement.
The deal continues what really has been a dream run for the Avant Gardener singer-songwriter over the past couple of years, with multiple festival and television appearances overseas as well as glowing reviews from Pitchfork, NME and the like. Barnett is also up for a few awards at tonight's Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards and she chatted to us about her noms and a bunch of other things recently, including koala-spotting and feeling like she's in an episode of 30 Rock.
The signing of Barnett also caps off a big few months for Native Tongue — the company recently secured the publishing rights to music legend Prince's back catalogue.
