“We’re wrapping up the year the best way we know how - with our annual holiday shows!” COG told fans.

COG’s fan-favourite annual holiday shows are back.

After a successful run of shows earlier this year promoting their latest, highly anticipated single, Walk the Line, the Australian progressive rock favourites have spent much of the year holed up at Key Sound Studios in Byron Bay, working on new music.

But now, after plenty of hard work and as summer approaches, the trio – Flynn Gower, Luke Gower and Lucius Borich – are preparing to revive their iconic annual holiday shows.

“Compañeros! We’re wrapping up the year the best way we know how - with our annual holiday shows,” the band wrote on social media today.

They added, “Massive thanks to everyone who’s supported us this year - we’d love to see some of you there for one last celebration before the year comes to a close.”

The excitement begins at Booval’s Racehorse Hotel on Friday, 11 December. It continues at the Sunshine Coast’s Kings Beach Tavern on Saturday, 12 December, and concludes at Byron Bay’s The Northern on Friday, 18 December.

Special guests Kodiak Empire join COG on all dates, while Elko Fields opens proceedings for the shows in Booval and the Sunshine Coast, and Jackrabbit open the shows in Byron Bay. The holiday shows mark COG’s last performances of the year.

Tickets to all shows are now available via COG’s Linktree.

Released last September, Walk the Line marked COG’s first taste of new music in six years. The track is a propulsive piece of art that saw the group lean into prescient themes as they reflected on the realities of life as a musician in 2025.

“Walk the Line expresses it all for us,” Flynn Gower explained. “Life for the three of us is fucking hard at the moment; the three of us individually are struggling to just survive and keep our heads above water. When you look at the work that goes into a song like this alone, the cost and the general lack of return, it’s all becoming almost impossible for us.”

He continued, “Almost everyone I know is in the same boat. They’re on struggle street, scratching their heads and wondering how to survive. The microcosm of the music and arts industry in Australia has gotten especially tough, and we’re all feeling the effects of that.

“As a band, we are working on stuff; we’re working towards other songs. But at this point in time, we really don’t know what the future holds, and we don’t know if this will be the last song. And that’s really what Walk the Line is all about at its core.”
