City Calm Down Unveil 2016 Aussie Tour Dates In Honour Of New Album

The Melburnian outfit have lined up four shows around the country's south-east in April

Stalwart Melbourne outfit City Calm Down stand poised to embark on a four-date run of shows around the south-east of the country next year to support newly released debut full-length In A Restless House, the band has announced.

Kicking off at Sydney's Oxford Art Factory on Friday 1 April, City Calm Down will take their live show to stages in Brisbane (Woolly Mammoth, 2 April), Adelaide (Fat Controller, 8 April) and Melbourne, where they wrap up their sojourn at the Corner Hotel on Friday 9 April.

The album may be a relatively fresh prospect, but it's been yielding good things for the band for some time now, with no less than three well regarded singles — namely SonRabbit Run and Wandering — to its name already, not to mention accolades from international media outlets such as NME, Apple's Beats 1 and more, while our reviewer found it a "sonically calculated, varied and well produced release" driven by a "concise and meditated" direction and an indelible sense of melancholy that makes for a wholly enjoyable listen indeed.

The April dates are far from the only commitments on City Calm Down's horizon, however, with a slew of festival slots lined up over the next couple of months at events such as Disconnect Festival (WA, 12 December), Lost Paradise (NSW, 29 December), Falls Festival (Vic, 30 December) and Sugar Mountain (Vic, 23 January).

Given the rapturous reception directed towards the band on their recent sell-out tour, you'll be wanting to move on tickets sooner rather than later. To that end, you'll be pleased to know that tickets for all the band's 2016 shows are available now through various outlets (Sydney/Brisbane/Adelaide/Melbourne).
