Blondie, Alice Cooper Lead Newcastle Pandemonium Festival Sideshows

The rock, metal and new wave fun continues between Pandemonium festival dates across the country’s East Coast.

More Blondie Blondie

Pandemonium festival organisers Apex Entertainment have announced two sideshows across two massive nights at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre led by rock music icons Blondie and Alice Cooper.

On Monday, 22 and Tuesday, 23 April, the rock, metal and new wave fun continues between Pandemonium festival dates across the country’s East Coast. The two shows are all ages, and here’s how they’ll go down:

Blondie will headline the first huge gig on Monday, 22 April, and they’ll be joined by festival mates Wolfmother and Cosmic Psychos. The following night, Alice Cooper will take the stage after special guests Deep Purple and Gyroscope.

Promising a classic rock showdown over two nights, fans can buy pre-sale tickets from 9 am tomorrow until 9 am on Monday, 26 February. The general sale kicks off next Monday at noon.

Tickets will be available via the Pandemonium Rocks website, with a limited number of junior-priced tickets for punters aged between three and 15.

Alice Cooper, Blondie, Placebo and Deep Purple spearhead the inaugural Pandemonium Rocks festival this April. They’ll be joined by Wheatus, Dead Kennedys, The Psychedelic Furs, Gang Of Four and Palace Royale.

On the local front, Pandemonium Rocks has locked in Gyroscope, Cosmic Psychos and Wolfmother. In addition to the international acts mentioned above, the festival is introducing Thai solo artist Petch.

The festival begins the fun at Melbourne’s Caribbean Gardens on Saturday, 20 April, followed by a weekday treat on Thursday, 25 April, at Sydney’s Cathy Freeman Park – the ANZAC Day public holiday, which spurred backlash and a venue change – and two stops in Queensland, Doug Jennings Park on the Gold Coast on Saturday, 27 April, and the Sandstone Point Hotel on Sunday, 28 April, in Bribie Island. Unfortunately, Blondie won’t be performing at the Bribie Island event.
