After postponing a forthcoming Perth show due to a medical emergency, Bliss n Eso have confirmed that their Sydney show, scheduled for this Friday (6 March) at Taronga Zoo, won’t be going ahead.

Last Friday (27 February), the Aussie rap group rescheduled their show at Perth’s Ice Cream Factory, which was scheduled for Sunday (1 March), as Max Donald Mackinnon – aka Macka or Eso – was in the hospital.

In a social media post shared today (3 March), they revealed that Macka remains in the hospital overseas, and “isn’t cleared to fly yet.” However, there’s some good news, too: he’s on the mend.

“Sydney fam, this one hurts,” Bliss n Eso wrote, sharing a picture of Macka in the hospital.

“We have to cancel our show at Taronga Zoo this Friday. Macka has been in hospital overseas this past week and isn’t cleared to fly yet. We’ve tried everything, but we simply can’t make it happen.”

Ticketholders will be informed about refunds via email.

The group continued, “The good news is Macka is on the mend and improving every day. He’ll be back in Australia soon.”

At the time of publication, Bliss n Eso’s upcoming show at Melbourne’s Live At The Gardens series—scheduled for Sunday, 15 March—is set to go ahead. But they’ll let fans know “if anything changes.”

The statement concluded, “Thank you for riding with us fam - it’s been a tough couple of weeks.”

Last Friday, Bliss n Eso informed fans that Macka was “currently unwell in hospital” and will be okay, “but needs time to recover.”

Bliss n Eso are touring in support of their latest album, The Moon (The Dark Side), released in September 2025. Their second album of 2025 served as a companion to The Moon (The Light Side), released last April.

The trio said of the album, “Albums are like movies to us, and this new one is the epic sequel to the album we dropped earlier this year with THE MOON (THE LIGHT SIDE), where we take the listener deeper into space and time on a wild ride with us. Get ready... cuz it’s time to orbit to the dark side of the moon!”
