Ahead of its kick-off on October 10th, Melbourne International Games Week has today revealed all the details of its upcoming Big Games Night Out.

Taking place at Fed Square from 3 pm until late, the event will see the Melbourne landmark turned into a “games-themed wonderland” with its schedule full of music, food, culture, and – of course – games.

Today, the event has launched its finalised lineup, with all schedules, maps, and timetables being released, alongside its full list of the more than 80 games it offers audiences.

Leading the lineup on the night is the launch of Blaktasia: Invasion of The Murk, Australia’s first Aboriginal-led mobile game. Projected live across Fed Square, the interactive experience features Robert K Champion & The Blaktasia Band, Soju Gang, and a First Nations country-western line-dancing spectacle.

Attendees of the Main Stage can also take part in the BGNO Cosplay Runway and Lip-Sync, with hosting duties taken on by Montaigne and Megan McKeough. Showcasing the best in fantasy fashion, strut, and commitment to character, sign-ups for the Cosplay Runway and Lip-Sync are available now.

Alongside Tetris, Street Fighter, and Super Smash Bros esports tournaments, the Edge Games Zone offers free play for games as varied as Mario Odyssey, Fortnite, Rock Band, and much more.

Meanwhile, the Atrium Games Zone hosts both a tabletop game extravaganza and a number of Blaktasia-curated Community Indies, including Studio Folly’s Gubbins, Kirrip Games’ The Adventures Of Dolly, and 2pt.’s Heavenly Bodies.

Additionally, viral sensation Crossy Road will also be celebrating its tenth birthday at this year’s Big Games Night Out, with Melbourne-based developer Hipster Whale planning some unique experiences centred around the game.

Increased demand for this year’s event has also necessitated the announcement of Warm-Up Wednesday at The Edge Games Zone on October 9th. This special addition includes some extra challenges, including a Tetris score challenge, a Beyblade tournament, a Melbourne Meeples panel, and more.
