Band still on for Splendour

Babyshambes have cancelled their headline shows around Australia after advice was sought by the promoters' immigration solicitor.

While the band still intend to fulfil their slot at the Splendour In The Grass festival, promoters Secret Sounds said the decision was made with “various considerations”,  including the immigration advice. Fronted by the infamous Pete Doherty, a co-founder of The Libertines, in the past he has been arrested and spent time in jail in the UK for a range of offences, including drug use.

Doherty is understood to have clearance to enter to country for the festival.

In a joint statement the band said, “While we're disappointed the tour hasn't worked out this time, we're very excited about playing our new songs at Splendour In The Grass and we're hoping to reschedule the other shows for some time in the not too distant future.”
