The heavy-hitting trio of headliners come to town this September
Celebrated international artists Bauuer (US), Stormzy (UK) and Yung Lean (Sweden) will converge on the stage of the Thebarton Theatre this September for a newly announced special sideshow appearance during their impending Aussie sojourn for the upcoming Listen Out festival.
Orchestrated by the event in conjunction with the legends at Astral People, Handsome Tours and Rocket Bar, the trio of international heavy hitters will all ride powerful but distinct waves of hype to Aussie shores; Baauer has long since transcended the novelty value of his breakthrough viral hit Harlem Shake to assert himself among the contemporary dance-music pantheon, while ascendant grime flag-bearer Stormzy has been a crucial force in bringing the genre to enough mainstream attention that we can confidently just call it "grime" without feeling like we need to launch into an accompanying explanation. Not to be discounted, of course, Yung Lean came out of nowhere (well, Stockholm) to make a massive impact around the world, all in time for his second album, Warlord, to follow on from his 2014 debut in showcasing the 19-year-old's prodigious grasp of musical and lyrical styles and techniques.
Baauer, Stormzy and Yung Lean hit the Thebarton Theatre on Friday 30 September, and will be supported by Collarbones and Cats DJs. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, 6 July, via Ticketmaster.
