While Slipknot go number one
A nu-metal favourite and a bunch of local reality alums have dominated this week's ARIA Charts.
Soundwave-bound Slipknot, as predicted, claimed the number one album this week, with their new LP .5: The Grey Chapter edging out Englishman Ed Sheeran and x, in at two, and last week's number one, triple j's Like A Version Ten, which moved down to three. It is Slipknot's second Australian number one, All Hope Is Gone topping the chart in 2008.
Inaugural The Voice Australia winner Karise Eden scored the hightest local album debut of the week — her new record, Things I've Done landed at five, followed closely by last year's The X-Factor winner Dami and Heart Beats, in at seven.
There were a few other Aussies to debut in the Albums Chart this week too including one-time Australian Idol star Ricki-Lee, whose fourth studio album Dance In The Rain scored 14th spot. Old school bluesman CW Stoneking debuted at 17 with his new toe-tapper 'Gon Boogaloo and indie-folk outfit Husky's Ruckers Hill entered at 29. Local Christian youth movement Planetshakers also debuted this week with their latest compilation This Is Our Time (Live), in at 30. Local alt-rock treasures The Church landed their new line-up's first set Further Deeper at 50.

Other debuts this week came from: Neil Diamond — Melody Road (eight), Ella Henderson — Chapter One (11), Florida Georgia Line — Anything Goes (20) and The Game — Blood Moon: Year Of The Wolf (27).
Heritage US troubadour Neil Diamond's new studio album success gave his back catalogue a sales spike as well. His iconic live set Hot August Night re-entered at 37, his Best-Of debuted at 47 and All Time Greatest Hits came in at 65.
In the Singles Chart, Sheeran maintained his stance at number one with his latest track Thinking Out Loud, but this week's winner of Australia's The X-Factor, 15 year-old Marlisa debuted strongly at two with her first single Stand By You. Local urban queen and another reality show alum, Jessica Mauboy debuted at five thanks to her funky new single Can I Get A Moment?.
Two other Aussies made their debuts this week also, with Guy Sebastian's new collaboration with American rapper 2Chainz — Mama Ain't Proud entering at 17, while The X-Factor runner-up Dean Ray scored 33rd place with Bette Davis Eyes.
More debuts this week came from a handful of international acts: David Guetta feat. Sam Martin — Dangerous (8), Olly Murs feat. Travie McCoy — Wrapped Up (15) and Taylor Swift — Welcome To New York (23). Foo Fighters' newie Something For Nothing just missed the 50, landing at 53.
