Band competitions are great, but band competitions that can score you prizes valued at $100,000 are even better.

The National Campus Band Competition, a talent discovery event that’s run for over 26 years  and has since evolved into Unisounds, is less of a traditional band competition and more of an all-genre, all-inclusive event.

In a brand new partnership between Hub Artist Services and the Tertiary Access Groupelgible students are able to enter online, with a chance to perform at the national final in Sydney this October.

The grand prize includes a record deal with Dine Alone Records, recording sessions/studio time with ARIA producers, a PR package, songwriting sessions with writers from The Kennel, guitars, clothing and more.

"Our business philosophy has been grounded on talent discovery and nurturing of new artists," Hub Artist Services' Troy Barrott said.

"We all remember those great nights at the Uni bar, relieving the stress of study by uncovering new live music. We felt this was a space in need of some new energy, because the talent is still out there but we've all been distracted by our smartphones and subscription TV.

"So we've partnered with some legendary music companies to shake up this grand old competition; where our ambition is as much to do with providing access to the industry for all young students and artists, as it is about a 'prize' winner".

Previous finalists that have been involved in the competition include Augie March, Eskimo Joe, Dappled Cities and Jebediah
