Complete with fuzzed out vocals and lo-fi grit
Perth ska punk eight-piece At The Space Jam have dropped their latest single, Hold On, and an accompanying film clip, splicing catchy melodies, horns and anarchy with ease.
The nod to Sam & Dave’s Hold On I’m Coming was recorded at Stonefield Sounds in Bayswater, and with fuzzed out vocals and lo-fi grit, matches their energetic live umph.
“A big part of this was the inclusion of Sam & Dave’s Hold On I’m Coming, which not only fit the song musically, but provided a unique vehicle through which to further explore the themes of the songs," the band said.
The themes are an amalgamation of breakneck speed and big brass sounds. The ATSJ octet and its four new members live for raw performances, and are amped up to launch Hold On at The Boston on Aug 19.
