Ariel Pink Has Not Broken Up Haunted Graffiti

A publicist has denied that there is any truth to Ariel Pink's comments of last week.

Ariel Pink, the eccentric indie music figure who has shot to notoriety following the enormous success of his band Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti's 2010 breakthrough album Before Today, shocked hipsters across the globe when he posted the following message on his Facebook account last week.

The band had just announced their new album Mature Themes would be released in August with a 20-date American tour booked in support of the album, so the timing seemed interesting to say the least. The statement was confirmed to be completely untrue by the band's publicist who has told Pitchfork that the scheduled dates will go ahead as planned. It is not known whether those dates will feature the band in its most recent incarnation – with Tim Koh, Kenneth Gilmore, and Joe Kennedy – or new personnel. A representative of the band's Australian label was unable to confirm any details for us today.

Last week the band unleashed Baby, the first taste of the aforementioned new record and a track that deserves to be heard, with or without a publicity stunt attached to it. You can hear it here.
