APRA Deadline For $30,000 Development Awards Extended

$240,000 in prizes to be awarded

The 2013 APRA Professional Development Awards have extended their application to Monday 21 January following the Christmas and New Year period.

The PDAs will award over $240,000 in prizes to music industry professionals across eight categories. The packages include cash ($12,000 courtesy of APRA), products, travel vouchers and education opportunities. They are aimed at semi-developed artists who need financial support to take the next step in their career.

In 2013 the eight awards will be given across the following categories: three for Popular Contemporary (which covers pop, rock, blues, folk, hip hop, dance and R&B), and one each for country, jazz, classical, film and television, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.

Previous winners include Gotye, Laura Jean and Abbe May with this year's judges including Jason Mraz, Josh Pyke, Julian Hamilton and Troy Cassar-Daley.
