"The ALWAYS LIVE program positions Melbourne as a global music city and Victoria as the live music capital of Australia."
Victoria's ALWAYS LIVE initiative kicked things off this year with a last-minute Foo Fighters show at GMHBA Stadium in March; it will welcome Billy Joel to the MCG in December and host Dua Lipa at the Palais Theatre next month.
Sampa The Great, Big Thief, Jessica Mauboy, The Teskey Brothers, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and more announced events. Not content with the riches it has already brought us, the latest artist announcement from ALWAYS LIVE is massive.
TLC are hosting an exclusive gig at Melbourne's Palais Theatre on Wednesday, 2 November, with support by KYE - you can also catch them around the country at Fridayz Live. Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, and Khruangbin add second shows, while The Veronicas, Years & Years, Thelma Plum, and Big Freedia play atop Melbourne rooftops.
The Old Bar is celebrating its 21st birthday with Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, SPOD, Skyscraper Stan & The Commission Flats, and Streetsweeper taking its tiny stage. Meanwhile, Hoodoo Gurus are zipping down to Frankston's Pier Hotel alongside Magic Dirt and Scott Darlow.
