Scott Horscroft, the producer credited with shaping records by The Presets and Silverchair, has bought The Grove Studios after it was offered to the market late last year.

Having previously run the acclaimed Sydney studio Big Jesus Burger before leaving that business to focus on his role as General Manager of EMI's A&R (a position he still holds and where he shaped the careers of bands like Empire Of The Sun) Horscroft's purchase of Grove sets the scene for it to become one of the country's top studios.

An hour north of Sydney the studio has seen the likes of Silverchair, INXS, Eskimo Joe, Troy Cassar-Daley and Delta Goodrem utilise its space. It was offered onto the market late last year.

“The grand vision for The Grove is the bring it back up to being a part of the music community and the music industry,” said Horscroft. “We wnt the studio and the space to become a big creative hub for people, whether it be to write, record, mix or master, or just get away.”

Horscroft, of whom it has been suggested has one of the best 'ears' in the industry, will be bringing in producers and engineers Burke Reid (The Drones), Matt Lovell (INXS) and Andy Mac (Boy & Bear) to join the studio's existing house engineer Josh Telford. The Grove houses four studios, with 42 separate rooms in total.
