More Eminem More Eminem

The Eminem-produced (and starring) documentary STANS premiered in cinemas earlier this month, and it’s now available on streaming.

A film about fandoms that explores Eminem’s long, successful career through the lens of his fans, the synopsis notes that STANS explores the complex relationship between the private rapper and his public persona.

It adds: “Through stylised recreations, rare archival footage, intimate interviews, and an exclusive original interview with Eminem himself, it offers a raw, loud, and revealing journey across his career — and the passionate audience that has grown with him.”

Of course, with a documentary about someone so famous and such a rich topic, great music is needed for the soundtrack. And STANS delivers, offering a previously unreleased Eminem song called Everybody’s Looking At Me alongside hits by the rapper. The documentary soundtrack is as follows:

While the documentary premiered in cinemas in early August, it has now landed on Paramount+ – including in Australia – and is available to stream.

Directed by Steven Leckart and produced by Eminem’s own Shady Films, as well as DIGA Studios, Fuqua Films, and MTV Entertainment Studios, news of the STANS documentary first surfaced in February 2024.

At the time, it was reported that the documentary film would portray a “revealing, edgy, and disarmingly personal journey into the world of superfandom” that would be told through the perspective of Eminem, “and the fans that worship him.”

“Stan” is now such a common descriptor for the most over-the-top fans that the term was added to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary in 2019 and the Oxford English Dictionary in 2017.
