More AC/DC More AC/DC

AC/DC have approved the new children's picture book called The AC/DC AB/CD High Voltage Alphabet. Co-founder and lead guitarist Angus Young contacted the music and entertainment institution, Love Police's Managing Director Brian' BT' Taranto, to discuss the project.

The AC/DC AB/CD High-Voltage Alphabet is the fourth in a series of children's books released by Love Police. The collection first launched over 15 years ago with the surprising smash-hit M Is For Metal and was followed by the similarly successful Never Mind Your Ps & Qs Here's The Punk Alphabet and The Country and Western Alphabet Book

The idea for the book came about when Young discovered M Is For Metal while in Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic. Young contacted BT, and the pair swapped exciting stories about amp stacks, their shared ringing ears, and antics on the road. Book illustrator, iconic artist, and designer Paul 'The Mayor' McNeil said, "Ask him if he wants me to create the Highway To Spell?" to which AC/DC voiced their approval.

BT voiced his excitement about the project, stating, "What an honour it is to work on this book, and to have had a connection to Angus for the real deal stuff makes it even more wild and special. Yeah, it's a kids' book, but any AC/DC or music fan will find something on every page. The Mayor has done a sweet and rockin' job. We are looking forward to educating another generation of rock and rollers!"

In a recent study showcasing music's effects on laparoscopic surgery, researchers played "soft rock" like The Beatles and "hard rock" like AC/DC to surgeons as they performed surgery. The results found that "When AC/DC played, surgeons were faster and more precise, with the time needed to make a precision cut dropping from 236 seconds to 139 seconds.

On the other hand, The Beatles Let It Be and Hey Jude also resulted in faster cutting, but only at lower volumes. The higher the volume, the more beneficial effect of the music diminishes. For hard rock music, the positive effect was especially noticeable when the music was played at high volume."
