We may have just entered December, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start planning your New Year’s Eve celebrations. If your plans include watching the ABC, you’ll be covered with fun hosts and equally exciting music.

Held on Tuesday, 31 December, from 8:30 pm on ABC TV and ABC iView, hosts Charlie Pickering, Zan Rowe, and Concetta Caristo will return to our screens from the Northern Boardwalk of the Sydney Opera House. They’ll count down to the midnight fireworks and ring in 2025 with a bang.

3%’s and triple j Blak Out host Nooky will curate a Calling Country performance that will feature animated projections on the Harbour Bridge to start the live music segment of the show.

The Calling Country performance will be followed by performances from Australian supergroup Fanning Dempsey National Park (Powderfinger’s Bernard Fanning and Something For Kate’s Paul Dempsey), ABC’s Queen of New Year’s Eve, Casey Donovan, Aussie hitmaker CYRIL, 1300, Nooky, American country singer Randy Houser—visiting Australia for a one-off performance at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel—Becca Hatch, and G Flip.

ABC’s New Year’s Eve celebrations will also pay tribute to triple j as it celebrates its 50th year by spinning classic Hottest 100 tunes and spotlights your favourite triple j hosts.

The New Year’s Eve 2024 concert will air on the ABC network, which means that you can watch it on ABC TV, iView, and across the national broadcaster’s social media channels. You will also be able to tune in via ABC Local Radio from 9 pm AEDT, and if you’re overseas, you can tune in to ABC Australia and via the ABC Listen app.
