"If the paramedics had not been so prompt with treating her she wouldn't be with us."
Police say a 15-year-old punter who allegedly overdosed at Groovin The Moo Maitland over the weekend is lucky to be alive thanks to paramedics that were quick to the scene.
According to Fairfax, the female festival-goer collapsed and stopped breathing at the event around 2.30pm on Saturday, where paramedics were able to perform CPR and revive her, before she was taken to John Hunter Children's Hospital in a critical condition shortly after.
It is alleged that a large amount of substances were found in the girl's clothing as emergency services cut through them while reviving her.
"If the paramedics had not been so prompt with treating her she wouldn't be with us," Central Hunter crime manager Detective Inspector Mitch Dubosjki said.

"If she was on the street instead of next to these guys, she would be gone."
The girl was released from hospital yesterday morning after her condition improved.
Ar least one other punter was hospitalised for a suspected overdose at the festival, while a further 36 people were caught with drugs by police dogs.
"It is disappointing, and the vast majority of them are juveniles," Dubojski continued.
"We continually warn people of the dangers of using these substances but the message doesn't seem to be getting through, they just don't want to hear it."
It is reported that in the last year seven people have died from alleged drug overdoses at Australian music festivals.
