Jack Bergin, the vocalist of Melbourne-based metal band Void Of Vision, is the host of triple j’s new heavy music program, CORE.
The show begins at 9 pm tonight and will air at 9 pm each Tuesday going forward. According to a press release, CORE will be the home to “the broad spectrum of heavy music.” Bergin will host metal, hardcore, punk, emo, shoegaze, and everything in between to connect triple j listeners with the best new material, interview artists, share tour news, and more.
Bergin joins triple j ahead of Void Of Vision’s impending disbandment. In the last year, the band supported Parkway Drive on their massive anniversary arena tour, opened for an international Stray From The Path tour, and dropped their fourth album, What I’ll Leave Behind.
A band that experimented with metalcore and electronic music, Void Of Vision also performed at the inaugural Knotfest Australia in March 2023. Next month, they’ll say farewell to their fans with a What I’ll Leave Behind tour.
Bergin said of being the host of CORE, “I’m so excited to join the triple j team and kick off 2025 with a bang. I discovered triple j via the specialist heavy programs in high school and had the station as the soundtrack to my day-to-day life over my formative years, so it’s a truly special feeling to be where I am right now.”
He continued, “I cannot wait to continue flying the flag for Australian music and share my passion and love for our heavy music scene down under.”
