The Kid LAROI, Tommy Richman Top Australia's TikTok Listening Habits

It’s officially wrap-up season, with year-end best-of lists and music services like Spotify and Apple Music unveiling their listener’s habits. Now, it’s TikTok’s turn.

Fresh off the back of the arrival of Apple Music Replay or Spotify Wrapped, TikTok has now gone into their stats department to share all the info about Aussie listening habits across the past year.

As one may expect, the most-listened to Aussie artist for local users is The Kid LAROI, who is closely followed by the likes of Lenny Pearce, hannah bahng, Keenan Te, and Troye Sivan. The rest of the top ten is filled out by some other big hitters, including Timmy Trumpet, Dean Lewis, CYRIL, The Wiggles, and G Flip.

None of the Australian artists make the global top ten, which features Yeri Mua, ENHYPEN, NCT, LE SSERAFRIM, and Stray Kids in the top five, though Bang Chan and Felix of Stray Kids are Australian musicians.

It has, however, been a big year for the Aussies, with Troye Sivan’s popularity being boosted by a tour with Charli XCX, hannah bahng nabbing a nomination for TikTok Music Artist of the Year at the 2024 TikTok Awards, and CYRIL achieving 700,000 followers on TikTok in just one year.

Over on the songs front, the top ten songs for Aussie users comes by way of Tommy Richman’s Million Dollar Baby (VHS), with Flo Milli’s Never Lose Me following close behind.

Tracks by Lay Bankz, ¥$, Blood Orange, Bobby Caldwell, Billie Eilish, Future & Metro Boomin, and Djo also round out the top ten.

Globally, the top ten songs is very similar, with Tommy Richman also topping the list, and much of the list featuring a shuffle of positions. However, ian’s Magic Johnson, GloRilla’s TGIF, and FloyyMenor & Cris Mj’s Gata Only are new additions as they close out the top ten.
