Double J has introduced a series of programming changes that will surely appease longtime listeners.

As we enter February, it’s time to know what’s happening on the radio so we don’t miss out on any changes. The radio station has revealed that Dylan Lewis has moved to Double J Arvos – you can listen to the Recovery star from 3 pm Monday to Friday for your dose of great music, “chaos and bird noises.”

Lewis isn’t the only one making changes at Double J. Beloved broadcaster, author and podcast host Yumi Stynes is the new host of Weekends. She’ll be hanging out with listeners in the mornings before handing the mantle to presenter and Classic Albums host Caz Tran in the afternoon. Yumi Stynes on Weekends can be heard from 8 am every Saturday and Sunday.

Double J is also opening up to heavy music, with the already-announced short.fast.loud. moving from triple j to Double J. The show, hosted by Josh Merriel, is packed with punk, hardcore, metal, alternative, “and everything in between.” Every Wednesday from 7 pm, the show will host new releases, nostalgic tunes, interviews, tour news, and other updates from within the scene.

Meanwhile, Hau Lātūkefu’s Sky High has moved to 7 pm on Thursday evenings and will repeat on Sunday nights at 6 pm. Artist In Residence has also moved, now playing at 5 pm on Sundays with replays airing from 7 pm Tuesdays and 6 pm on Saturdays.

This month, Artist In Residence is set to take listeners on a walk down memory lane with “former triple j brekky boys and two of your favourite Aussie punks”: Jay & the Doctor from Frenzal Rhomb. Who else do you want to deliver music and chaos?
