What?

Following sold out shows in Melbourne and Sydney, ambient / rhythmic / experimentalist pioneers Not Drowning Waving now embark on a national tour.

The band reconvened last year to celebrate 50 years of PNG independence, and this tour sees the David Bridie fronted outfit again re-unite with PNG legend Sir George Telek plus an impressive lineup of talent from the Pacific to perform songs from their landmark album “Tabaran” and their latest release “Malira”.

Lauded as “an early masterpiece of world music and a true work of artistic collaboration” (Mark Mordue), “Tabaran” continues to inspire audiences globally.

“Malira”, released in September 2025, has received widespread critical acclaim and immediately sold out its initial pressings, even making an unexpected appearance on the charts.

The show will see the 8-piece band perform over two sets with their trademark extensive use of video projections.
