Teen Jesus & The Jean TeasersAussie rock band Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers took to triple j studios for Like A Version, covering a certified classic.
Taking on t.A.T.u.’s All The Things She Said, all four members of the band shone as they shared vocals and shone a spotlight on their walkout music.
Lead singer Anna Ryan approached the song with energy and respect for the original as bassist Jaida Stephenson opened the cover with a brooding keyboard melody. Drummer Neve van Boxsel and guitarist Scarlett McKahey also showcased their instruments and provided backing vocals.
While they were in the triple j studios, the band performed their track, BALCONY, from their latest album, GLORY, and discussed why they chose All The Things She Said.
“It’s such a banger; it’s such a good song, and we wanted to cover it,” McKahey said. She added that All The Things She Said has always felt like a “constant” in the band members’ lives and is “so iconic” and “an anthem,” and has received newfound attention due to its feature in Heated Rivalry.

Ryan added that while their version came together quickly in rehearsals, the band spent more time polishing it, which felt like the longest time they’d ever worked on a single song. McKahey also looked back on the original song, which featured backing vocals in Russian, so she did the same.
