Having just opened for Tyler Childers at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, James Ellis continues to celebrate the release of his new record, The Party Might Be Over, with a show at The Bridge Hotel in Castlemaine on Friday 21 March. Joining him will be his long-time band, The Jealous Guys, as they play songs from the new album as well as from 2018’s It Ain’t Texas (But It Ain’t Bad), which won Best Country Album at The Age Music Victoria Awards, and 2020’s Country Lion. The Party Might Be Over features Nashville-based stars Chris Scruggs (Marty Stuart), Fats Kaplin (John Prine) and Lillie Mae. Produced by Micah Hulscher (Margo Price), it recalls the late 60s / early 70s Nashville sounds of Mercury / Smash’s Jerry Kennedy.
