Best WAM-related story? The day Nessy, Eilish and I merrily spelled out WAM with our hands and the photo made it on to the WAM members page as a permanent banner. Officially winning at life.
What do you think separates the WA music scene apart from the rest of the country? A sense of community and camaraderie among bands. Every other city I've been to, the music scene seems really competitive, but in WA everyone is buddies. We all help each other out and that's one of the reasons there are so many incredible bands here, because everyone's working together with the common goal of making good music and having a good time.
What WA bands are you vibing on right and why? My top three WA bands right now are The Yokohomos, The Galloping Foxleys and Rag 'n Bone, because even though their music is all really different, they are all doing everything right; they have amazing songs, an awesome live show, are great musicians and have really strong identities.
Why should people come and see you from amongst the many cool bands at WAM? We'll get you up and dancing - which at 2.30pm is a bold claim.
What's on the horizon for you? We have some awesome festivals coming up including Jungle Love (QLD), Disconnect and Fairbridge, are preparing to make a new EP this summer, and if all goes to plan will be touring to the USA early next year. We're pretty excited.
WAM Festival performance: Saturday Spectacular, Flyrite, Saturday 2.30pm.
