Tim Rogers (You Am I) and Lance Ferguson (The Bamboos). Does it get more Aussie rock and roll than that?

Seeing them together in the music video for Who Dares Wins under their moniker of The Ferguson Rogers Process – which exclusively premieres on The Music today – is a delight.

Featuring footage taken from their thrilling debut live show at Melbourne’s The Night Cat earlier this year, the music video finds the pair performing on stage with a live band, with flashing lights, Ferguson’s guitar playing and Roger’s endlessly charismatic showcase as a frontman in the spotlight. No wonder Who Dares Wins is one of their favourite tracks from their upcoming album.

The video spotlights Rogers’ lyrics about not hesitating and taking more chances, as well as the message that the world belongs to the brave (“jump first, jump long,” he sings) and no matter what, you’ll learn a lesson from the chances you take (“Lesson begins as each door swings, somethin is lost as you wait.”).

The music video for Who Dares Wins arrives three weeks before the band releases their debut album, Style And Or Substance. While the album was set for release next Friday (15 November), it’s been moved back to Friday, 29 November. The highly anticipated launch shows will take place in 2025.

According to a press release, Rogers and Ferguson plan to take fans on a trip down memory lane, with the album providing a slick, groovy new version of Disco. The Ferguson Rogers Process are all about glamour and grit, stories of movie stars and hustlers, and capturing different sides of their musicality.

In addition to Rogers and Ferguson, the band features members of The Bamboos and Melbourne boogie outfit Mondo Freaks.

The Ferguson Rogers Process announced their debut album in September.

Ferguson said of the release, “I hope it ends up soundtracking some wild times. I’ve spent the last 30 years+ involved in making music with the primary purpose of inducing humans to move with reckless, rhythmic abandon. Why stop now?”

Style And Or Substance will be released via Impressed Recordings on Friday, 29 November. You can pre-order the album here.
