VIDEO PREMIERE: Hard-Ons - 'Buzz Buzz Buzz'

Aussie punk rock legends Hard-Ons are back swinging, proving that with the release of the raucous new single Buzz Buzz Buzz. Today, The Music is exclusively sharing the video premiere for the new track, which you can check out below.

Released last Wednesday (31 July), Buzz Buzz Buzz arrived alongside the announcement that the band would be hitting the road on an epic 40th anniversary tour.

Buzz Buzz Buzz is a driving punk-rock tune, stacked with headbanging riffs from beginning to end. Highly satisfying in its delivery, the Hard-Ons confirm that a great punk song really doesn’t need to be longer than two minutes and 13 seconds.

Filmed over two of the three nights the Hard-Ons opened for Radio Birdman at Sydney’s Manning Bar last month, the music video for Buzz Buzz Buzz - delivered in slo-mo, is as exhilarating as its melodies suggest.

Co-written by band members Tim Rogers and Peter ”Blackie” Black, the latter said of the thrilling new tune: “Our best collaboration so far. When Tim said, ‘I wanna get a little left of centre with the melody on this,’ I was BLOWN away (but not surprised).

Alongside the announcement of their 40th-anniversary national tour and release of their new single, the Hard-Ons also revealed that they’re the subject of a new feature-length documentary film, The Most Australian Band Ever, which will have its premiere at SXSW Sydney on Wednesday, 16 October.

The documentary’s director, Jonathan J. Sequeira (Descent Into The Maelstrom - The Radio Birdman Story), said of working with the band: “The Hard-Ons made it easy because they are an intense, dynamic band.

“You just point the camera in the general direction, and you know it’s going to be special. Like filming a bushfire in a nudist colony... I heard it a hundred times while editing and still love it.”

Comprising original members Peter “Blackie” Black (guitar) and bassist and backing vocalist Ray Ahn, the group is rounded out by drummer Murray Ruse and singer Tim Rogers. The band’s upcoming tour begins on Friday, 18 October, and concludes on Saturday, 9 November. You can find the tour dates below and purchase tickets here.
