The 50 most influential people in the Australian music industry.
Brett Murrihy co-founded Artist Voice alongside Matt Gudinski in 2010 as part of the Mushroom Group, booking local and international talent for Australasian tours. Artist Voice was acquired by William Morris Endeavour (WME) in 2015 with Murrihy moving into the role of Head of Asia Pacific for Music while retaining clients like 5 Seconds Of Summer, Angus & Julia Stone, Neil Finn and more.
You only have to glance at WME’s roster to know how busy Brett Murrihy’s 2019 was. Australian tours from WME international artists included Arctic Monkeys, Florence & The Machine, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Toto, J Mascis and more, delivering some of the most notable shows of the year.
Of course, there was the return of Childish Gambino too, who headlined both Splendour In The Grass as well as his own tour throughout July, which proved to be one of the most in-demand events of the year.
Australian artists delivered in 2019 too, with Alison Wonderland continuing as one of the most popular artists in EDM, Gang Of Youths joined fellow WME artists’ Mumford & Sons for extensive international tours, while Ruel grew his fanbase around the globe.
There was the groundwork for 2020 too, with Bon Iver set for Dark Mofo ahead of its postponement, Fatboy Slim and Vampire Weekend touring throughout January, and Lizzo performing her debut Australian shows (including a very, very sold-out Sydney Opera House).
