SNEAKERLAND is the culmination of Diallo's passion for sneakers and community. It's a place where over 50 vendors and brands come together to celebrate the artistry and craftsmanship of sneakers.
With previous events in Melbourne and Perth drawing in over 13,000 attendees and facilitating over $1.2 million in trades, SNEAKERLAND Sydney is poised to be the biggest yet.
General admission tickets are priced at $30 via Ticketmaster. For more information, visit the SNEAKERLAND website and get ready to step into a world where every sneaker has a story.
Ahead of the Sydney event, we caught up with Diallo to suss out what you need to know about SNEAKERLAND.
Tell us a bit about SNEAKERLAND.
SNEAKERLAND is a streetwear and sneakers convention that celebrates everything around it from music to sports, everyone is welcome from kids to adults.
How did your whole vision for SNEAKERLAND come about?
The way I view SNEAKERLAND is a place where people celebrate, learn and embrace streetwear fashion. I always wanted to bring people together to celebrate culture, from basketball, dance, and food to music — and sneakers are a universal product that speaks to different people from different backgrounds and cultures.
How many pairs of sneakers do you own?
I own over 300 pairs and they all have a message behind them. Most of them were gifted by the brands.
Aside from checking out/buying and trading sneakers, what else can guests do at SNEAKERLAND?
You can find activations like the museums curated by Throwback store, a VIP room where there will be a live auction with some of the rarest sneakers in the world, a basketball court by Foot Locker and Puma with a 1v1 tournament for male and female winners gets $1k, a dance battle featuring some Sydney best dancers, the winner gets $1k, a food truck by Butter and Little Lagos, a sneaker cleaning station and a panel with special guests!
Puma is also giving away free Puma hoops gear for an entire year, to win all you gotta do is come to SNEAKERLAND and do the challenge!
What’s your favourite thing about the event?
I love seeing people connect and smile, it brings me joy to see everyone having a good time. My favourite moment is when we give away free sneakers to the crowd!
Perth recently had its inaugural SNEAKERLAND event - how was that?
Perth SNEAKERLAND was so good! Over 5500 people came down to buy and have a good time!
Are there any plans to expand to other states?
We have hosted the event in every city, next is Brisbane then New Zealand and Japan!
