SINGLE PREMIERE: Fiction Writer - 'Hiding From Nothing Now'

Fiction Writer, the new project from Gideon Bensen, former guitarist for The Preatures, will release his new single Hiding From Nothing Now this week. We here at theMusic.com.au have scored the exclusive premiere today and we're pretty stoked about it. 

While the '90s techno meets new-wave rock vibe that permeates the track has us yearning for a late-night dancefloor, lyrically Bensen has gone deep. 

"Hiding From Nothing Now came about after a visit to my elderly grandfather," he told The Music. 

"He was talking to me about survival and the idea that putting people into a corner can bring out the best. The message is simple: be tenacious, with enough fight you will succeed.

"He muttered the words ‘I’m hiding from nothing now,’ which resonated with me, as he is in his final years at 96."

Sonically, Bensen said he "was listening to a lot of '90s techno and big beat".

"I took the bones of the track to friend/producer Chris Collins, where we worked together on it further," he shared.
