Single title? Gemini
What's the song about? Gemini is an examination of the alter ego, where the voice of persuasion inside is allowed to take control.
How long did it take to write/record? It's probably been in the works for about six months. It initially started out with what is the synth hook in the intro and built from there.
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? I guess the next logical step would be an EP. All going to plan, we’d like to have something out probably early next year.
What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? I wanted to write a slow-ish song that had an uptempo feel, so this is the product of that. Playing around with the different rhythms and percussive elements really helped in that way.
We'll like this song if we like... It's been compared to alt-J and Glass Animals, which I'm not entirely unhappy about!
Do you play it differently live? We try to recreate live as accurately as possible. In fact, it's probably a bit more 'live', as we usually play with a real human drummer rather than a machine.
When and where is your launch/next gig? We have a short run of East Coast dates coming up in November, beginning with Sydney on November 11, followed by Brisbane and Sunshine Coast and finishing up in Melbourne.
