How would you personally describe shoegaze music? Loudly amplified, heavily distorted rock music, with many washy effects. Obscured vocals concerning water, gasses and crushes. Blurry album covers. Great stuff.
How did you first discover shoegaze and what drew you in enough to actually perform it? Through friends, magazines and radio. The noise element drew me in.
What seminal album would you offer someone who knew nothing about shoegaze as an introduction and why? Loveless by My Bloody Valentine. It's art.
How's the camaraderie and size of the shoegaze scene in Melbourne? Nice and friendly, probably quite large for a city of this size.
