Brisbane electro-break wunder-kids Kid Kay Ferris have been on a roll since their debut CD launch earlier this year. With a few different record companies knocking on the door, and an upcoming tour of Sydney, Danny Muller and Joel Joslin are feeling pretty good about life right now.

Can you describe your sound, and how it's evolving?

D: “We're basically an electro duo, but we slip into plenty of other genres - drum n bass, techno, and so on. We're currently working on MC Hammer's comeback album. He's a true musical genius, and it's an honour to work with someone who can fit an entire recording studio into his dacks.”

How do you think growing up in Brisbane has shaped your music?

D: “Brisbane is a brilliant place to grow up. The sunshine and the heat and old Queenslander homes - it's all part of a whole attitude that's had an obvious impact on the music scene. It's great to be around relaxed people, listening to some tunes, sitting out enjoying a quiet beer under a clear night sky. Brisbane rocks!

Is the KKF affiliated with the KLF? If so do you intend to burn huge piles of money at any stage of your career?

D: “Hmmm, not the KLF, although we look forward to the day when an urban myth surfaces about us being members of the KKK - Joel really should clean out that garage full of charcoaled crucifixes...”

What have been your most memorable gigs (three)?

D: “Acidisco with a clan of Bikies in Byron, Ekky Thump (the punters were goin' off!), last Adventjah in the Ravebreak room.”

Who are your musical influences?

“In order of importance: Corona - Rhythm Of The Night, Melissa - Sexy Is The Word, East 17 - House Of Love, Paula Abdul - Opposites Attract.”

If you could horribly maim one huge pop star who would it be and how?

J: “Moby. We hate him. I would love to (in a hypothetical situation) deep-fry his brain. I am not made of stars.”

If you had to permanently lose your hearing but for one song, what would it be?

D: "Sweetness & Light by Itchee & Scratchee”

J: "Across the Universe by The Beatles.”
