More KG More KG

South African born, Australian raised rapper KG has come firing out of the blocks with his recent single, Mabo, Martin, Mandela. The politically-charged single follows on from equally powerful tracks All Black and Forgive Them, putting the rapper squarely at the forefront of activist hip hop in the country. And on his latest, it's all there in the name of the track: “Mabo, Martin, Mandela is my tribute to three of my favourite black leaders in history. I created the song to educate people on who they are and get an emotion of pride from the black community as well as a reaction from people of all races. In the current climate and fight for equality worldwide, it's important that we learn from the past.

To celebrate the tracks release, KG has also created a bit of a history lesson in playlist form, showcasing 20 of his favourite songs dealing in politically charged themes. We cheated a bit calling it an activist rap playlist, as there's one track on there you probably wouldn't call hip hop, but we'll let you figure out which it is. Check the single and playlist out below, along with his upcoming show dates down the bottom.
