Hidden Treasures Winter Music Series: Dave Brewer Band

What can punters expect from your Hidden Treasures show? The band will play mostly my original material with a few obscure covers, and all songs can loosely be termed as “Roots” drawing on blues, soul and funk styles. The band relies on improvisation and features guitar and Hammond organ. People familiar with the musicianship of Bob Patient (keyboards), Wayne Freer (bass) and Angus Diggs (drums) will know they can expect a set of great grooves.

What is it about Fremantle that produces so much talent? The “village” feel of Fremantle has some influence on this.

What other acts on the line-up should people check out and why? I'm a big fan of Carus and Jim Fisher, so people should check these acts out.

Past Fremantle highlight? Highlights for me over the years were the CD launches of my two albums at the Fremantle Arts Centre inner courtyard.

What else are you working on right now? At the moment I’m writing songs for a future release, and also playing live gigs with my blues band The Doodaddies and also with singer Natalie Gillespie.

When & where: 7 Jul, Buffalo CLub
