Have You Heard: Aoife Scott

When did you start making music and why? Music is the family business; I tried to be the black sheep and get a 'proper' job when I left school. Five years ago I left the job to live the dream. Here I am.

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Irish folk, traditional, roots.

If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? American bluegrass finger Alison Krauss' Forget About It. It is my favourite album of all time, her vocal is everything you need in life to survive in this crazy universe.

Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? Our US tour - We were asked to play on 47th Avenue in Manhattan, where the whole street was shut down to hear us play. Rocking out on the streets of NY — and with a view of the Empire State Building!

Why should people come and see your band? If you like good music, good chats and some great stories then you should come. I'd love to meet ye!
