Fan Girl And The Warm Embrace Of Tracksuit Pants

"Unsafe driving techniques, sore teeth, Christopher Walken, cowbells, the finer points of cock rock..."

The "belt grabbing, pant dropping, steampunk game-show jingles," of Melb boys Fan Girl recently accompanied the drop of their hilarious accompanying video for single NoLita, a Dune Rats-come-DZ Deathrays style clip that features a sickening coffee drinking competition. We would not like to be their adrenal glands after filming.

Their latest offering is Disappear — the second single from their upcoming debut record — was inspired by a plethora of random things, including "unsafe driving techniques, sore teeth, Christopher Walken, cowbells, the finer points of cock rock... the warm embrace of tracksuit pants [and] Microsoft Excel," explains guitarist and songwriter Vincent McIntyre. "Fan Girl started in the minds of Melbourne musician [McIntyre] and spiritual wunderkind Jack Wood. By divine providence, frontman Noah Harris was contacted while in South Korea, and a fruitful bond ensued as the trio began collaborating on what would become Fan Girl," McIntyre explains.

Disappear, along with the rest of their record's tracks, "was recorded at Taste Police HQ — [my] home studio. It was engineered and produced by [myself], and mixed by James Cecil [Super Melody World/Architecture in Helsinki]. There are a couple more singles to come out, and the album will be out in early 2017 to inevitable critical acclaim."
