Face The Music: Mikey Cahill

"'ll make snide/sweet remarks about Sin City."

Position: Culture Consultant, Herald Sun and News.com.au

How did you first become involved in the music business? I bought a Smash Hits mag when I was ten (to the chagrin of my parents who thought I was too young) and knew I wanted to be a music journo because Jason Donovan. Quite.

What's your area of expertise and what experience do you have? Shakin' and bakin'. NB: Bakin' does not cause cancer.

What topics will you be mostly talking about at Face The Music? Melbourne and Sydney. Not versus. Mainly Sydney. We'll chat about the impact of the lockouts on earnings, scene development and market confidence. And I'll make snide/sweet remarks about Sin City.

What do you hope to personally take away from Face The Music? A fistful of dollars (read: business cards).

What's one question about the music industry you'd love to have the answer to? Are you really the head of the Kwik-E-Mart? Really? You? Also, why do metal fans buy CDs while every other music fan seems to be dropping off the compact disc radar?
