"Why so much paperwork?"

Position: Director — Perfect Pitch Publishing Pty Ltd.

How did you first become involved in the music business? Moved to Sydney in 1976 to be able to see live music. Joined APRA, learned all about copyright for eight years. Then joined Shock Publishing and then started Perfect Pitch Publishing.

What's your area of expertise and what experience do you have? Music publishing. Music publishing is invaluable as you get to gain experience across the board in the industry.

What topics will you be mostly talking about at Australian Music Week? Synchronisation of copyrights in a rapidly changing music environment.

What do you hope to personally take away from Australian Music Week? I hope to be able to pass on my knowledge about the music industry to give something back to artists that are doing it hard out there.

What's one question about the music industry you'd love to have the answer to? Why so much paperwork?
