Album title? Malcura

Where did the title of your new album come from? We self-titled our debut album. 'Malcura' is a made-up word that combines the Spanish words 'Malvado' and 'Locura'.

How many releases do you have now? This is our second release, and our debut full-length. We released an EP in 2013 titled Flamenco Metal.

How long did it take to write/record? This album has been written and crafted over the last 12 — 18 months via extensive busking in the Bourke St Mall, where we do a large portion of our performances.

Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? Funding for this album came predominantly from donations and people buying our EP off the street while busking. Rodrigo y Gabriela had a similar start to their career which has certainly inspired us.

What's your favourite song on it? Presto. We are essentially an instrumental band, but we added some Opeth-style vocals to the end of that track.

Will you do anything differently next time? I'd like to see us incorporating more vocals on the next album and into our overall sound.

When and where is your launch/next gig? Album launch, 18 Feb, Federation Square main stage, 6.30pm.
