Shotgun Karaoke is the best low-stakes gig you’ll see this year. And that’s most of its charm.

“I had a blast on the Shotgun Karaoke tour last year, but it wasn’t long enough,” Dempsey said.

"I guess I don't really expect covers records to feel like such a big deal," the Something For Kate frontman admits.

Dempsey will premiere songs from his highly anticipated sequel album, 'Shotgun Karaoke Vol. II,' at a special free show.

"There are mistakes and imperfections, and they belong there just like they belong at a karaoke night," explains Dempsey. "How boring would perfect karaoke be?"

Powderfinger will receive the 'Excellence In The Community Award' next week. Sarah Blasko, Paul Dempsey, and Troy and Jem Cassar-Daley have discussed their impact for The Music.

“I really feel for young artists trying to connect with people because it's really hard to make people know they exist,” Dempsey said.
